We all know how much work it takes to keep a bod bikini ready and it’s particularly hard to maintain that sleek and sexy look while on holiday. Ritz Carlton in Fort Lauderdale knows this and offers lots of help for those who want to keep up with the Jennifer Aniston’s of this world. On our recent girl’s getaway in Fort Lauderdale my sister enjoyed trying out an hour of poolside pilates with Roxanne Salas, the hotel’s lovely and personable yoga instructor. And where was I you ask? I was busy taste-testing the Nutella Beignets that had been delivered to our room, my oh my!
Here are a few of the activities on tap at the hotel if you feel the need to fit in that workout on your next Fort Lauderdale holiday.
You can join fitness enthusiast and motivating instructor, Roxanne Salas, for an hour of spectacular oceanfront sunrise or sunset conditioning and yoga sessions. Roxanne Salas is certified by the College of Sports Medicine, IDEA, AFAA and SriNaranda Yoga institute Yoga Alliance and will accommodate all levels of fitness agility.
Ritz Carlton Fitness Packages
May 1 through September 30, 2010
Package includes a one-hour fitness class and 50-minute Swedish massage.
A total of two hours for $150
Stability Ball Total Body Conditioning ~ 60 minutes
Monday-Wednesday 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Using a fitness ball, perform exercises that focus on strengthening back muscles, but also give a full body workout. The ball’s mobility engages several muscle groups to maintain balance, thus maximizing the workout benefit.
Pool Side Yoga Pilates Stretch ~ 60 minutes
Tuesday-Thursday 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
The Yoga and Pilates combination is a perfect balance of stretching, breathing and toning. Allow the body to use its natural potential to heal and restore internal equilibrium. Individuals will use their own body weight to add resistance to their muscles. This exercise is highly recommended for individuals who may suffer from lower back problems.
Swedish Massage ~ 50 minutes
This soothing therapeutic massage will improve circulation and remove lactic acid build up, while completely relaxing body and mind.
The only problem with all of this is that the Ritz also offers up some of the best hotel desserts I’ve ever enjoyed, and my all time favorite is made right here, warm nutella filled beignets! What’s a girl to do? Sigh, ten more miles on the treadmill for me!
