GirlsGetaway.com celebrates its one year anniversary!

Whoopee! GirlsGetaway.com will be celebrating its one-year anniversary on October 13th, 2010! I can’t believe it’s been an entire year and what a great year it has been!

We would like to take this occasion to give special thanks to our writers who’ve provided us with wonderful travel stories, making GirlsGetaway.com a fun and really special place to visit for women travelers. Our writers have been generous, patient and kind to us during our first year of operation, sticking it out through the inevitable bumps in the road involved in launching a new website.

How much do we appreciate our writers? We decided to show our love in two very special ways:

1. We have checked our stats to find our top five stories in the past year and we want to give special recognition to the writers that sent us these wonderful articles.

For the number one top story of the year, GirlsGetaway.com is thrilled to announce that we will be awarding an Apple IPad to the lucky writer!! Our four runners up will receive $50US! The results will be announced on GirlsGetaway on October 13, 2010.

2. Beginning in November 2010, GirlsGetaway will also be giving out a monthly cash bonus of $50US to the writer of the most viewed story each month for the next year. (Total of 12 cash awards of $50).

The rules are pretty simple:

All stories must be original to GirlsGetaway.

Staff stories and Trip Talks are not included.

Data will be based on statistics collected from GirlsGetaway’s Google Analytics.
