Snow King Resort in Jackson Hole

We’ve all heard time and again a picture is worth a thousand words. Instead of giving you a bunch of words to read over, we’ve decided to give you a few of our favorite photos from a recent visit to Snow King Resort located in beautiful Jackson Hole Wyoming, to tell our story a little more vividly. And maybe to make you a tad bit jealous.

For starters, Snow King offers a courtesy airport shuttle for all guests, which immediately takes a little stress and guesswork out of your trip. Not only is this a warm welcome to such a great little town, it’s a personalized welcome and if you’re lucky enough to get a guy like Barry, like we did, your trip is already starting out well above average.

Every employee, including my good friend Barry (pictured), goes through Tip of the Hat service training. This training is based on providing great hospitality service along with good old-fashioned cowboy values to give each guest the best possible experience imaginable. The Tip of the Hat mentality is found all throughout Jackson, but no place as much as Snow King.

The only thing better than an extremely hot guy to cuddle up next to by a fire alongside a beautiful mountain is, you guessed it…s’mores. This is just one of the many delicious offerings available at Hayden’s Post (the onsite restaurant) with the delectable ambiance to match.

Paired with the perfect glass of bubbly and the mountain-side views, it may not actually get any better than this. Ever.

The View

I’m not so sure the higher powers that be had much to do with this part of the stay, but the view all throughout Jackson, and especially just outside the doors of Snow King were stunning. No matter which way you looked, no matter which season, it was glorious. At any given time you can spot meandering wildlife, families skiing or snowboarding down Snow King Mountain, beautiful views of the town and so much more. For an added taste of perfection, sit poolside, fireside or on the deck of Hayden’s Post sipping a delicious glass of Veuve Clicquot.

Hayden’s Post

Photo Credit: Jayme LammOne of the finest dining establishments in Jackson Hole is the newly renovated Hayden’s Post (as of this summer), located on the second floor of Snow King. With extensive experience in an assortment of boutique hotels, Executive Chef Scott Blackerby is sure to astonish you with one of his many tasty, varied and innovative dishes, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. (If you go for breakfast, you must order the homemade jam. You. Absolutely. Must. GirlsGetaway.com orders.)

We know you’re tired out from a day of sun and snow but If you can manage to stay up a little later, you’ll be rewarded with an awesome night out listening to the best of Jackson Hole’s live music scene and you’ll also score big with their after-hours bar menu. Hayden’s Post is complete with a friendly staff, vast drink menu and big windows and a wraparound deck to enjoy all of it.

For another great food option, check out Bin 22 located in downtown Jackson. Bin 22 is one of Gavin Fine’s delicious dining options in Jackson, providing a New York City feel with some good old hospitality including community tables and a daily happy hour from 4-6pm. This amazing downtown location has a diverse selection of drinks including value and local wines, craft beers and regional spirits that are perfectly paired with their extremely diverse menu.

Literally just steps outside of the beautiful resort you’ll find hiking trails of all difficulty and terrain levels. Whether you want to up that cardio for the morning during summer months or just go for a blissful walk and beautiful views, this is the spot. Not sure where to start? The staff at Snow King will direct you on the perfect trail for you, and if you’re lucky, maybe they’ll even join you for a morning hike. Remember, it never hurts to ask. That’s what this cowboy town is all about – stunning customer service.

Mountain towns are synonymous with skiing and snowboarding and other snow activities along with hiking and mountain biking, but for the true daredevils out there, paragliding is one of the most exhilarating experiences known to man (or woman). We were able to paraglide off Jackson Hole Mountain, from over 11,000 FEET IN THE AIR in tandem with the knowledgeable and fun experts at Jackson Hole Paragliding.

Not only is this an amazing and adrenaline-rushing experience, but the “Pilots” will take you on as many twists and turns and swirls as your stomach will allow. Once you settle down (if you so desire), you’re literally guiding through the clouds overlooking all the pristine beauty that Jackson has to offer.

Note, this adventure is not for the faint of hearts. Yours truly, Miss Crazy Pants herself, almost chickened out, but thanks to my awesome Pilot Matt, I took off the cliff like a pro. (Well, almost…he kind of made me, but I was incredibly happy he did.)

Whether the city of Jackson and Snow King Resort are just another stop on your Girls Getaway radar or you’re planning a family vacation or even a destination wedding, you’ll certainly leave with tons of pictures and memories of your very own.
