Visit Kate Middleton’s London in ‘Royal’ Style

Visit Kate Middleton's London 'Royal' Style

What woman wouldn’t love to explore Kate Middleton’s London? With the royal wedding just days away Kate has become UK’s new ‘it girl’. Kate fever is upon us, the daily news obsesses over her every move, checking out her sleek style, tagging along when she shops, and while we may not be the one who ends up in wedded bliss with Prince William, we can all visit some of future Queen of England’s favorite London hangouts.

One store in particular has benefited from it’s close association with Prince William’s future wife. Kate worked briefly as an accessory buyer at Jigsaw, a women’s fashion retailer in London. While there, she collaborated on a necklace with designer Claudia Bradby, the necklace has now been re-issued and is available to buy online at www.claudiabradby.com. Kate has been described as a walking advertisement for Jigsaw, often being seen wearing their chic Sloan Ranger wear. I wonder if Kate will do for Jigsaw what Michelle Obama did for J. Crew?

The scalloped-edge ivory blouse Kate Middleton wore in some of her engagement photos to Prince William is back on the shelves of Whistles, one of London fashionistas fav boutiques. The silk, collarless shirt, with lacy detailing down the front has been reissued as the “Kate Blouse” and is available on the brand’s website for 125 pounds (around $205).

“Whistles is known for its vintage inspired silk blouses, which are currently best sellers in its stores,” Jane Shepherdson, chief executive of Whistles said in a Telegraph UK interview. “We are delighted that Catherine chose to wear Whistles in her engagement photographs.”

A girl’s ‘royal’ getaway in London could also include a stop at one of Kate and Prince William’s favored dining spots, Bluebird restaurant in Chelsea. The restaurant serves up classic British food under head chef Mark Block and every Thursday all Bluebird Bar customers can enjoy free entry to Raffles nightclub. Once you’ve finished cocktails at the bar, collect a poker chip, and make your way over to the club to dance the night away. Who knows, maybe you’ll end up bumping elbows with London’s other most eligible bachelor, Prince Harry!

Another popular hangout among London’s rich and famous, including Kate and Wills, is Mahiki, known as much for its celebrity crowd as its fabulous cocktail menu. This upscale Mayfair tiki bar serves its own house rum from Barbados and spins classic rock tunes. The delicious cocktails include a Guinness punch, a Coconut Grenade (served in a real coconut) and perfect for a Brit ‘hen party’, order the Treasure Chest, which serves eight and contains rum, brandy, peach liqueur, lime and sugar, topped with a bottle of Moët & Chandon.
