Cabana Cool in Fort Lauderdale

May 2010

I recently spent a luxurious afternoon lounging in a lovely and luscious Cabana at the Ritz-Carlton in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I shared this decadent day with my sister and now we are both firm converts to the joys of Cabana rentals. Our girl’s getaway at the Ritz was pure indulgent fun and during our stay we discovered many reasons to love the Cabana, let me list a few:

1. Pampered bliss

FortLauderdale_300_cabanaDrinksRitz-Carlton knows how to pamper guests. Renting a Cabana also raises the service level up from 10 to an 11 or 12 on the excellence scale at this hotel. Professional, friendly and accommodating, the pool staff goes way beyond service with a smile.

2. Sun, glorious sun

I love being out in the sun, but we all know that an entire day outside without any protection is not a good thing. The Cabana gives you cool, lovely shade in a sublime location. Which brings me to the next joy of a Cabana rental…

3. Location, location, location

FortLauderdale_300_poolThese Cabanas are perfectly positioned, on a level below the pool so that you are away from the noise and busyness of being poolside but within easy access for that lovely cool dip or hot tub soak whenever it strikes your fancy. The Cabana section also overlooks Fort Lauderdale beach; you’re nestled in a sweet little spot, totally private, with an absolutely awesome view of the beach, sizzling white against the deep blue of the ocean. Perfect for people watching!

4. All the mod cons

The Cabanas come fully loaded with:

  • Mini Bar filled with bottled water. (also great for that pitcher of sangria)
  • iPod Docking Station
  • Flat Screen TV
  • Sun Lotions
  • Fresh Fruit
  • Two lounge chairs and two easy chairs

Whether you use none or all of these conveniences it’s a nice to have option.

5. Elegant, luxurious, special, decadent

Spending the day in your own Cabana is all of the above. It’s a perfect gift for that special occasion or just because you deserve it. Before my Cabana Day at the Ritz I wasn’t sure if this would be something that I would truly enjoy. Usually I spend a couple of hours at the beach or pool and then I’m ready to head home. My sister had to practically drag me away from my Cabana. I am a convert, I am a Cabana Girl.
