Of Travel, Women and Paris

I have a confession to make, I played hooky yesterday. In my role as managing editor and co-owner of GirlsGetaway.com I had fully intended on spending a few hours dealing with technical fixes and proofing new travel articles for the site. Instead, I spent my entire afternoon delving into a wonderful blog that I had just discovered: Beth Arnold’s Letter from Paris. I always think about Paris at this time of year because it was in this month that I last visited this lovely city. So when I stumbled across Beth Arnold’s blog it immediately caught my eye, tantalizing me. “Oh” I thought to myself “to be in Paris once again!” and I was lost. The afternoon flew by as I visited Paris vicariously through Beth Arnold’s website.

As I explored Beth’s blog further I found not only great travel information about Paris but also many wonderful articles that spoke to the traveler, mother, woman, wife and political junkie in me. I would like to share this blog with you, and a few of the articles that in particular caught my eye – I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

A few of my favorite articles on Beth’s blog include:

Travels with my Daughter – A wonderfully evocative tale about the bonds of motherhood, friendship, loss and mother/daughter travels in life and on the road.

Wildfitness in Kenya – What woman can’t relate to the following sentence?

“…I needed some time alone to nourish myself. We women are continually short of this. I’d vowed to take some time and space for myself every fall but wasn’t fulfilling my promise.” Beth Arnold travels to Kenya and spends two weeks nourishing her soul and body at the Wildfitness Spa.

Calder at the Pompidou – Beth talks about good girlfriend time and the George Pompidou Centre in Paris – two of my favorite things.
